Air Liquide Healthcare

An innovative key partner in healthcare transformation
Healthcare is changing. Underlying trends such as the aging of the population and the increase of chronic diseases are impacting the patient's care pathway. We want to be a key innovative partner in the transformation of healthcare. With you, our role is to support the evolution of hospitals, of your practices as healthcare professionals and to be the keyplayer in the complex management of chronic patients.

A promoter of digital health and related services
As a pioneer in remote monitoring of sleep apnea
, Air Liquide Healthcare is actively involved in the ETAPES study, a telemedicine project,  launched in 2018 by the French Ministry of Health to monitor patients with Non Invasive Ventilation. Air Liquide Healthcare has specifically developed the Chronic Care Connect algorithm to generate alerts and adjust the patient’s care. Of the 928 patients with chronic respiratory insufficiency (source: DGOS at the end of 2020), 50% have been included with an Air Liquide Healthcare’s solution.  After a four-year experimentation, the French Ministry of Health has decided to reimburse telemonitoring solutions for patients with Non Invasive Ventilation.

A medical device expertise with the Explor! center
Explor! is an in-house laboratory of Air Liquide Healthcare that evaluates medical devices and new technologies used in the fields of respiratory failure diseases and sleep disorders. A multidisciplinary team of experts, researchers, biomedical engineers, nurses and technicians work on test benches and simulation equipment to analyze and compare the performance and characteristics (ergonomics, noise, ease of use, size, reliability, mobility) of medical devices. The objective is to recommend the device that best suits the patient’s profile, thus facilitating compliance with treatment and ultimately improving the patient's quality of life.

Committed to the fight against Covid-19 in hospitals and at patients' homes
For more than a year, the Air Liquide Healthcare teams have been mobilized to ensure the continuity of oxygen supply in France for all healthcare establishments as well as at home. While demand has sometimes increased fivefold or even sixfold, the Air Liquide Healthcare teams have anticipated and increased oxygen production capacities and logistics to meet the demand from hospitals. This mobilization is not often visible, but is real and essential to get through this crisis and supply this critical molecule.
At the patient's home, our major challenge was to maintain the follow-up of our patients with chronic diseases, by implementing exceptional measures to ensure the continuity of treatments. Air Liquide's homecare teams also enable for non-covid patients to be discharged earlier in order to free up hospital beds, and for Covid-19 patients to be treated at home with home oxygen therapy.
